QUILTING GOALS & BLOG TROLLS
Quilting Goals & Blog Trolls have kept me busy the last few weeks. I love to quilt, and enjoy blogging about the quilts. However, the recent comments by unkind and discouraging blog trolls is a bit much.
UGH…the quilting list

As I posted several weeks ago, due to the number of UFOs I am dealing with, I had to make a serious list. Making the list was easy, working on the list was somewhat harder. There simply is not enough time to quilt as much as I would like to.
So, the list is worked on it small bites. Maybe you have to do the same to reach a goal. You know, 15 minutes here and 30 minutes there. That is real life, not something to feel bad about.
One Goal Done
One goal accomplished is completing the remaining 6″ of hand quilting on one side of this quilt. Yeah! hand quilting complete. Posting about this quilt is for another time (psss….so is the binding).

Another Item Checked off the list
Another goal was cleaning the sewing room. What a mess and sooooo embarrassing. Now neat and I can find fabrics and supplies again.

A benefit of cleaning and organizing was to find the fabric for the 2022 mystery quilt. All these fabrics are from the scrap bins or my stash. They are now in a bag and waiting for the first set of directions to come out next week.

And…
I also got the nine patch blocks sewn into two tops instead of one. You can’t see it, but the files on the computer for quilt photos is coming along nicely. Even the Christmas placemats are making progress. Little steps forward have been made over the past few weeks. The UFO list is shrinking a little.
The really important thing is simply to work at your own pace. And have fun working on your quilt projects. Be creative and enjoy. Make quilts that make you happy.
Readers, please remember that all of us have different goals. We also have different schedules and available time. We are not cookie cutters, and should not compare our progress to others.
Now that we have talked about quilt goals, we need to mention blog trolls.
Really….trolls on a quilt blog??

Some people just have nothing good to say. They have nothing positive to contribute, and that is not what this blog is about. And they must have tons of time to waste.
The goal of this quilt blog to be fun, informative, happy, and encouraging.
To the trolls out there. Beware – all comments are seen by me before they will post to the public. Many are deleted and the writer blocked. This is not a blog for politics, COVID, or porn. It is not a dating site. This blog is not a place to make rude comments about color choices. Or patterns. And really not your thoughts on how stupid quilters are.
To the trolls who email me. I choose not to waste my precious quilting time on you. Your messages are read, and deleted with no response from me.
QUILTING GOALS & BLOG TROLLS
Keep working on your list of what you want to do. Each thing you check off is an accomplishment. Reward yourself.
Don’t let the “trolls” in your life get you down. They are their own worst enemy. Enjoy life and your quilts. Smile and be happy – it ruins a troll’s day.

I love your quilt blog. Lots of ideas and just good common sense. I read this post and had to say that there are just people in this current world who have nothing better to do than bash others. You are so right to not waste time on them when they make nasty comments on your blog. Keep up the great work on this blog. I know it is takes time from your quilting, but I am so happy you share your passion with the rest of us.
Thanks so much for the encouraging words. So glad you enjoy the blog. Happy quilting.
The cyber bulling thing is totally out of hand – who would “bully” a quilter who is trying to encourage and inspire other quilters!!! You are right to delete, block, and/or not respond.
Too much time to waste, and an obvious lack of self-respect. And a lack of self- control, and personal responsibility. The modern world of out-of-control craziness.
This is a big reason why I am not a fan of social media – too much nonsense. Thank you for agreeing that he/she has too much time to waste and no self-control. This is the downside of having a blog and trying to help others thru it. I will continue to delete, block, and/or not respond. In the meantime, we both need to have a great time quilting.
Trolls – Amazing how some folks have a ton of time to waste. You are right not to spend your precious time on them or their negative comments. Life is way too short for that garbage.
As for your goals, even with your crazy schedule and time crunch, you are so organized that you get stuff done. Hope you have a big prize in mind for getting thru the project list.
I think trolls are just unhappy people hoping to get some sort of good attention out of being nasty to others. My time is short and valuable, and I am not wasting time on those folks. They are their own worst enemies. As for me, I am going to go quilt and put in some happy music. Happy quilting to all of you.
