This is time of year to bring out all those patriotic quilts – in any mix of red, white, and blue. It is the birthday of the USA so those of us who live in the US should celebrate our wonderful country (no, it is not perfect, but then neither are any of us). Show off your patriotism with quilts.

Each of us have favorite holidays, and here in the US there are plenty to pick from and decorate for. I was recently asked what my favorite holiday is. My most favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, followed by July 4, and then Christmas. I decorate simply but quilts are always part of these wonderful traditions.

In 2014, Paducah had several patriotic quilts on display.

I am trying to wrap my brain around the fact that I am halfway through 2023. Sheesh, the year is flying by.

Last week I took down the antique quilt that was hanging in the sewing room and put up this one “Patriotic”. I posted about this one here. It was simple and fun.

Have a safe and happy July 4. In all the hustle and bustle of this season, remember to show off your patriotism.
